Project Summary
Digital health is a field of tremendous importance for the present state and future development of health care. Demographic developments such as an aging population, an increasing number of chronically ill people, and rising health care costs heighten the pressure on health care systems. One approach to addressing these issues is the use of telemedicine and digital health technologies. For my PhD project, I will conduct a comparative analysis of digital health platforms. To formulate a first hypothesis, more pronounced data privacy concerns are expected to lower the probability of using digital health technologies. In this context, some variables might moderate this effect, such as data protection regulations or openness to technological innovations.
